Amazing BBQ. Tied with Memphis in my book.

Waltzed in to the best gas station restaurant ever. Enter Joe's BBQ. Famous in KC. They have a few locations but had to check out the OG spot, of course. It was this or Arthur Bryant's but after a discouraging experience a friend had told me about and the pile of positive reviews that Joe's had, the choice was easy. We met my cousin Samantha there. It had been SO long since we hung out, it was great seeing her and this food only enhanced the experience. I went with their famous "Z-Man" BBQ sandwich. It was a monster. Sliced smoked brisket, smoked provolone, a couple huge onion rings, a gwop of BBQ sauce all on a Kaiser roll. It was fantastic. I tried to keep it under control but the smell, the flavors and the overall vibe sets you up to eat more than you should. On the walls, you see the awards, the press, the celebrities who have visited, etc. I know where to go when I am in KC, this will be one of my first stops.
