and it was...$17.
This meal is one for the books. It was an experience I will never forget. Almost unreal. If Adrienne wasn't there with me, I would imagine it was all a dream. I still reference this meal in conversations when we get on the topic of "most epic meals ever". We were in El Calafate/El Chalten in Patagonia (Argentina) and we were feelin' lucky. Waltzed into this little place for dinner. A stone house converted into a small restaurant. It must have seated about 20 people max. I ordered the Lomo because, it was Lomo and I was in Argentina, I tried to order Lomo almost every chance I had. This piece of meat came lightly peppered and along some type of corn/potato mash and it was topped with some type of purple flowery garnish (edible), brocolli and a cheese that brought it all together. The weight of my knife cut through this meat like warm butter. To top it off, I paired it with a local Malbec and life couldnt have been better in that moment. I felt like I was on top of the world even though I was at the bottom end. This meal alone was worth the trek. To have this and the view of Mt. Fitz Roy all in one day was almost too much for my soul to handle. I stored this one deep in my memory and it was a life highlight, to say the least.
